Flag Day Fun

Happy Flag Day everyone! leslierahye here with you for a fun tutorial! This is a window card with a patchwork background! I love the peek-a-boo look of cards and I love the quilt-like mix-match of the background. I hope you do too!

I began by printing my papers and USA Myrtle on Kraft Card Stock. To create the sentiment for the card, I trimmed the dashes off of the sentiment. I printed the mixed dots and stripes from the Sail Away Papers and the red star background from the Patriotic Papers. To create a matching solid, I sampled the red dots from the Sail Away Papers and used that to fill a page.

The printed papers from the card front were all cut to 4"× 5¼"
I cut a horizontal line at 2". I trimmed the larger piece at 2" and then diagonally as below.

Next I layered the cut pieces on the red base.

I adhered a cut glitter star over the meeting points of the background. I cut through the layers inside the star to create a window for the front so that the sentiment can be viewed through the  closed card. The sentiment was then pasted into the inside to complete the card. Rhinestones were added to the seams of the quilt-like background. USA Myrtle was trimmed closely and foam taped to the card front for a bit of dimension!.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
